Curriculum Vitae
As an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics' Department of International Relations, my research addresses institution-building, political violence, and (in)security, predominantly in conflict-affected contexts. I completed my Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Washington in 2014, and prior to joining LSE I was an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University's School of Politics and Global Studies.
Together with Marie Berry, I co-direct the Women's Rights After War project, which offers a critical examination of women's postconflict empowerment. Using a variety of participatory research methods, the project evaluates the lived realities of gender reform efforts as they are experienced by women from different class, ethnic, racial, religious, or other backgrounds.
For my evolving work on capitalism, climate and crisis, watch "The Pandemic As a Portal" here.
Together with Sarah Parkinson, I co-convene the Advancing Research on Conflict consortium, including a
summer field methods program for doctoral students preparing to embark on field research in volatile or conflict-affected research sites.
Information about the summer program can be found here.
