Curriculum Vitae
As an Associate Professor at the London School of Economics' Department of International Relations, I work on state-society relations, human rights, gender, and political violence. I completed my Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Washington in 2014, and prior to joining LSE I was an Assistant Professor at Arizona State University's School of Politics and Global Studies.
Together with Marie Berry, I co-direct the Women's Rights After War project, which critically examines efforts to extend rights and gendered protections in transitions from war to peace. Using a variety of participatory research methods, the project evaluates the lived realities of gender reforms as they are experienced by differently situated violence-affected populations.
With Sarah Parkinson, Kanisha Bond and Kate Cronin-Furman I co-convene the Advancing Research on Conflict consortium. The consortium focuses on research methods, research ethics, and researcher accountability. We host a residential summer program for doctoral students preparing to embark on field research in research sites affected by violence. Information about the summer program can be found here.
